Eating Healthy Easier with Others, Says Study

1

Eat with people that eat healthy in order to stick to your weight loss goals is what researchers of a recent study of eating patterns are recommending.

At the Radboud University Nijmegen of the Netherlands researchers followed 70 pairs of young women eating together and discovered that people will generally eat what others are eating due to a need to feel that they are socially accepted and accomplished.

According to an article about this study in the Fitsugar, the reseachers found that it is about going with the flow and imitating what they see. For example, if someone is eating junk food like hamburgers and fries, it’s easier to eat what they are eating rather than order a healthier choice like a salad.

The conclusion is that it is hard to make good choices when you are around others that make poor ones, in regards to food choices. The advice that can be drawn from this is that sticking around others that eat well and stick to their healthy choices will provide a better environment for you to maintain your weight loss goals.
